Wow, it’s September! Even though it’s still REALLY hot, it feels like fall is on it’s way.
I wasn’t looking for this fabric or this shirt, but when I came across this Italian cotton from Blackbird Fabrics I added it to my order. Luckily not long after I came across the Kalle shirt from Closet Case Patterns and it was a match made in heaven.
I have never made a collar before and I’m really excited that this one turned out! I really like the ease of the instructions in a Closet Case pattern and this one was no exception. I did sneak a peak on youtube though just to understand how to put the collar together. Now that I know how it all works, I think the instructions are pretty good.
I’m also happy to have also sewn my first yoke with a pleated back, no problem! I want to make my husband a structured collared shirt and being able to accomplish a yoke and collar in this one pattern was really great. The end result is a really lovely, soft and light shirt that goes great with leggings. I cannot wait to wear this and make another variation in the future!
